EMDR Intensive Programs are not covered by insurance.

Weekday EMDR Intensive Therapy works out to approximately $325 per hour.

    A weekday 2-day, 9 hour program = $2925.

    A weekday 3-day, 12 hour program = $3900.

Weekend EMDR Intensive Therapy works out to approximately $490 per hour.

We can adjust how long a program is. Talk to us about it. We are flexible.

  • Intensive programs are flexible.

Typically if someone is interested in an intensive program, we would meet and see what makes sense for them. Many clients will end up doing a 2 or 3 day program.

Other times clients may have more extensive work they wish to do, or complete the initial program and decide at that point to work on more material.

  • A 2-day intensive program provides various resources and aims to enhance performance and confidence, or significantly mitigate the effects of a single-event trauma, such as negative thoughts, distressing emotions, sensory components, and physical sensations. While substantial healing can be achieved in 2 half-day sessions, individuals with more extensive trauma histories may require additional treatment beyond what a 2-day intensive can offer. As the complexity of developmental or relational trauma increases, so does the necessity for prolonged therapeutic engagement. Clients with more intricate trauma profiles might choose to address their trauma histories through regular half-day intensives on a monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly basis.

  • A 3-day (weekday or weekend) EMDR intensive allows for more time to address specific issues with multiple components more efficiently than weekly, 50-minute sessions or a 2-day intensive program. It allows for more thorough examination of the presenting issue.

    • Maybe you sense something profound needs to change, but aren't sure how to reach it with your current therapist.

    • You may want weekly therapy but find it overwhelming due to a busy schedule.

    • Perhaps you need immediate help and don't want to wait months for traditional therapy to work.

    • You seek more efficient support as a busy parent or professional.

    • Perhaps you are an existing client needing extra, more focused support.

    • You might understand new concepts cognitively, but your body feels confused, prompting curiosity about intensive EMDR therapy alongside your primary talk therapy.

    • Maybe you are a new client who prefers to work intensively.

    • checking in between sessions

    • addressing weekly crises and concerns

    • focusing on stabilizing and coping skills that are no longer needed after healing

    • helping regain composure at the end of each session

  • One of the great things about Intensives is that since the sessions happen over just a few days instead of weekly, clients can come to Vermont from anywhere in the world.

There are many places to stay within a short driving distance.

    • We offer a 20-minute free phone consultation.

  • Below are the steps forward:

    1. We will set you up as a client in the system. We need your full name, email address and phone number, if we don’t already have them.

    2. We will send you an intake form to complete. Please complete the attached questionnaires as well.

    3. We will Schedule your intake interview session. This is 60-90 mins. This can be done over secure video call or in-person.

    4. You will receive a Good Faith Estimate of charges.

    5. If all seems good to go at this point, we move on to the 3-hour intensive sessions. This is typically 9-12 or 12-3 and in-person. It can also be virtual if need be. We tend to have a short break each hour or so.

    6. We will continue with as many EMDR 3-hour Intensive sessions as we have decided upon. Typically clients will have 3 such sessions.

    7. Typically two weeks later we will have a follow up interview session to check in on how you are doing. Video or in-person.

  • Per the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Please note: I send a GFE to all clients prior to the start of services and resend this at the start of every calendar year.

  • You can click the button on this page and request a free consultation.

This consultation is usually 15-20min by phone or Zoom.

This is time for you to ask any questions and for us to review expectations and see if this would be a good fit.

If we decide to move forward, I would send intake documentation, including some assessments (all online).

Once intake paperwork is completed, we would meet for a 60-90min pre-intensive session where we would go through the intake paperwork and assessments, develop a plan and outline the flow of the intensive sessions.

This portion can either be done via telehealth (HIPAA compliant platform) or in-person.

We would then meet for the EMDR Intensive 3 hour sessions during the next open week that meets your schedule.

3-hour intensive sessions are typically done in-person.

  • Two business days are required to cancel a one-hour appointment. Two weeks are required to cancel any appointment for longer than 60 minutes. All late or missed appointments, except in cases of environmental or medical emergency, are charged using the authorized billing method at the full rate of the services scheduled. This is necessary because a time commitment is made to you and is held exclusively for you. If you are late for a session, you may lose some of that session time. If you are more than 15 minutes late, we consider the appointment a No-Show and charge your credit card on file. Discounts may be applied at the discretion of the clinical director.
